Hazel Parlor Plumbing
We find the leak, then we fix the cause
A two-van plumbing workshop working on homes and small shopfronts. Pipework, drains, hot water and fit-outs — diagnosed properly, quoted before anyone picks up a tool.
- Two-hour windows You get a window, not a whole day. If we are running late you hear it from us first.
- Licensed gas & water Certificates issued for every gas appliance and backflow job we complete.
- Stocked vans Common tapware, valves, traps and thermostats travel with us, so most faults finish in one visit.
- Floors covered Mats down, cuts sheeted, old parts taken away. The room goes back the way we found it.
The work we take on
Scope
Four lanes, and we say so when a job is outside them
We are a repair-and-renew shop, not a new-build contractor. If your job needs a civil crew or a licensed roof plumber, we will tell you in the first reply rather than booking a visit.
Urgent leaks & burst pipe repair
Wet ceilings, a meter that keeps ticking overnight, a pinhole in a wall run. We isolate first, locate with acoustic and moisture tracing, then open the smallest patch that lets us make a proper repair instead of a clamp that fails next winter.
- Isolation
- Leak tracing
- Copper & PEX repair
- Meter checks
Blocked drains & slow waste
Gurgling traps, a shower that pools, a gully overflowing after rain. We clear the blockage, then camera the line so you know whether it was grease, roots or a broken section — and whether it will come back.
- Jet clearing
- Drain camera
- Root cutting
- Report with footage
Hot water: repair before replace
Lukewarm showers, a relief valve weeping, a unit that locks out. Most tanks fail on an element, thermostat, anode or valve long before the cylinder does. We check those first and only quote a replacement when the tank itself is finished.
- Electric & gas storage
- Continuous flow
- Anode replacement
- Tempering valves
Bathroom & kitchen fit-outs
Rough-in through to final fix, working alongside your tiler and cabinet maker. We set out waste and water before anything is tiled, which is the single thing that keeps a renovation on schedule.
- Set-out & rough-in
- Waterproofing liaison
- Tapware final fix
- Appliance connections
Symptom guide
Work out what you are dealing with
What you notice, and what it usually turns out to be
Worth a read before you write to us. Knowing which of these matches your situation makes the first reply far more useful — and a few of them you can settle yourself without a booking.
| What you notice | Usually caused by | What we check first |
|---|---|---|
| Water hammer | Loose pipe clips or a worn washer slamming shut | Clip the offending run, replace the washer, and fit an arrestor only if the knock survives both. |
| Shower runs cold | A failing tempering valve or a single dead element | Temperature at the outlet versus the tank, then element and thermostat resistance before any talk of a new unit. |
| Meter still turning | A concealed leak, or a toilet quietly passing water | Isolate at the toilet stop taps first — it is the cheapest cause and the most common one. |
| Drain smells | A dry trap, or a vent that is partly blocked | Run every fixture in the room, then camera the vent line if the smell outlasts the water. |
| Damp skirting | Failed shower waterproofing more often than a pipe | Moisture mapping across the wall before we cut anything — pipes get blamed for tiling faults constantly. |
| Low pressure, one tap | A silted aerator or a partly closed stop tap | Strip and flush the aerator on site; if pressure drops across the whole house it is a different job entirely. |
How a visit runs
From message to clean-up
No surprises on the invoice
The sequence is the same for a dripping tap and a full bathroom rough-in, which is what keeps the quoting honest.
-
Step one
You describe it, we reply with a window
Send the symptom and a photo if you have one. You get a written reply with a date, a two-hour window, and what we expect the job to involve.
-
Step two
Diagnosis on site, before any work
We test, trace and show you what we have found. Access is agreed up front — which cupboard, which wall, what has to move.
-
Step three
Fixed quote, then your go-ahead
One price covering labour, parts and making good. If we uncover something behind a wall that changes the scope, we stop and re-quote rather than letting it run.
-
Step four
Repair, test and tidy
Pressure tested, run through in front of you, mats and offcuts out. Certificates and the camera footage follow by email the same day.
Rates & callout structure
How we quote
Priced per job, not per hour
- 01The callout covers attendance and diagnosis, and it comes off the job price if you go ahead on the day.
- 02Repairs are quoted as one fixed figure before work starts. Hourly billing only applies to agreed investigation work.
- 03Parts are listed on the quote at cost plus a stated margin, so you can see what you are paying for.
- 04Invoices are issued on completion with the certificates attached. No deposit on repair work.

After hours

Tell us the symptom
The more specific you are, the better the first reply. Mention which fixture, when it started, and whether anything has changed in the house recently — new appliance, recent tiling, a storm.
Every enquiry gets a written response with a window and an expected scope. If the job is outside what we do, we will say so plainly.
